Leasing A Horse FAQ
Leasing is a great way to get extra riding time in with out the commitment or cost of purchasing a horse.
MISSION STATEMENT
My mission for this leasing program is to do numerous things such as teach kindness to all of Gods creatures, to provide a safe and healthy environment dedicated to teaching animal stewardship and compassion with in the barn environment that extends kindness to all students and animals thereby creating deep equestrian friendships and amazing lasting memories.
Currently, I am offering a lease option for our gelding Blue. He is safe, sane, sound and oh so sweet. HIs favorite thing to do is cuddle and wrap his whole neck around his kid. He is so kind, loving and has been quite the asset to Running Horse Ridge and all of our students. He has taught numerous children balance, kindness, horsemanship, quiet hands, heels down and so much more!
Blue has been a lesson horse for well over 4 years now and I think he would benefit from having one or two children to love rather than the 8 he currently has. I do plan to continue to use him for Pony Preschool, but that is a lead line situation and I think he rather enjoys that type of environment = walk work only with truly little children. I will work Pony Preschool students around the more advanced student/families who decides to lease him.
I am also planning on finding another horse that will be a step above Blue, so that the student can learn canter as well. This may take some time so I ask parents of my students who would like to lease, to be patient as safe, sane and kind horses are difficult to find.
So, how do horse leases work?
* All leases are 6 or 12 month contracts.
* Leases require a 30 day notice to cancel.
* Running Horse Ridge will continue paying vet and farrier.
* If the horse is lame or out of commission, student (leaser) can learn about unmounted care dealing with the reality of horses...which is that horses have fragile bodies and that care and maintenance come along with horse ownership.
* If the horse has to be off for longer than 10 days, I will either credit your lesson account with the balance due for lessons or apply the monies due to the next lease agreement.
* Students will still need to take at least 1 weekly lesson.
* I will teach parents how to help tack up Blue and make sure every one is safe.
* At the beginning of your lease, I will make myself available during the times your child is riding until the parent feels comfortable on their own.
* Parents need to be onsite and no drop offs unless parent has had cleared it with me and I am available to be with your child.
* This program will need to have a regular weekly schedule of your rides so I know when you will be here and can assist you and your child.
Lease Options Available:
2- riding days per week + 1 lesson = 3 rides per week = $350/mo includes 4 lessons per month.
3- riding days per week + 2 lessons= 5 rides per week = $600/mo Includes 8 lessons per month.
